We Must Have Faith In Ghana's Manifest Destiny, Let's All Work To Achieve It: Dr. Bawumia To Faith-Based Organizations

Vice President Bawumia has stated, In order to reach Ghana's development objectives, everyone must actively "own" the national vision and collaborate with other important players. As a result, religious groups must join forces with the government to achieve this aim.

Dr. Bawumia, speaking at the 2nd Biennial Joint Conference of the East, West, and Mid Ghana Conference of the AME Zion Church, reflected on the conference theme, "The Freedom Church: Securing our Future." He stressed the need for a collective effort to establish national objectives, drawing on pertinent expertise.

The subject of the conference is an impassioned call to action for all of us to have faith in the future and to act now to ensure its survival, safety, and preservation. We have had some really difficult economic times recently, but we must not let these events diminish our trust in God's plan for our future, even though this is true for all countries.

We need to establish a long-term plan outlining our objectives and the steps to reach them. To see into the future and make plans for its realization, you need leaders with vision, and you need individuals who are willing to put in the time and effort to realize their dreams.

"Thus, if we want to make sure that our future is secure, we need to think about how our present choices will affect it and do what we can to make it happen," he said.

During his speech on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Vice President Bawumia urged Christians to consider the impact of their deeds and inactions on the progress of their country:

“Would it be too much to ask that Christians complement their prayer vigils and revivals with honest diligent work? Is it too much to ask that each individual commits to personal cleanliness and respect for the environment? Can we commit to holding leadership at all levels to account, irrespective of political or religious leanings, with the same passion with which we strive to uphold the rule of law? Can the church reclaim its prophetic voice and mandate by being faithful and true to her divine calling?”

The Vice President commended the AME Zion Church for her invaluable contributions to the national development effort in the areas of healthcare, basic and secondary education, advocacy and promotion of social justice" were lauded by the Vice President of Ghana.
Ghana is on the brink of greatness, Dr. Bawumia declared, and he urged his countrymen to have faith that rapid national growth is achievable through unity of purpose and honest dialogue.

I believe that there is a purpose for why the Almighty God has placed us all here at this particular moment. He has given us the strength we need to overcome this challenge and help create Ghana, our much loved homeland.

Together with the President, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, and the members of the AME Zion Church, I pray that God's love and patriotism would strengthen our will to improve our nation and its citizens.

Bishop Hilliard K. Dela Dogbe of the African A.M.E. Zion Church in the Western West Africa Episcopal District has urged the people of Ghana to avoid divisive and violent politics during the upcoming leadership election.

Politics should bring people together, not drive a wedge between them.

Let us listen to the parties' platforms, discuss them, and pick the one that will help us overcome our problems the best. W
e would all prefer a world without war.
