Honourable Alfred Obeng-Boateng Donate 3k Towards Chirasec Handing Over Ceremony

On Thursday, 8th August 2024 the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai was represented by the MCE and the Presiding Member of the municipal Assembly at Chirano Community Day School for the SRC handing over ceremony. 

In his welcome address, the Chairman of the occasion, Nana Kwabena Boadu ll, Odikro of the Chirano community expressed gratitude to the teaching staff for sacrificing immensely for the school amidst a myriad of challenges. Counseling the students, Nana Boadu noted that education is the bedrock of societal development. The students were also entreated to take advantage of the Free SHS policy to broaden their horizons.

Mr. Baba Malbeng, Headmaster of the School, expressed appreciation to the various dignitaries for honouring their invitation. The Headmaster further commended the staff for their unflinching support and hard work that has brought the school to its current state. He noted that they have a charge to keep and a nation to protect. Mr. Baba indicated that the school's enrollment stands at 295. "Surprisingly, the school has maintained a 100% pass to date, the Headmaster revealed."

He outlined some of the challenges confronting the school as inadequate water supply, connection to the national grid, lack of hostels, inadequate non-teaching staff including a driver and painting of the school.

In his keynote address at the ceremony on the theme "The role of the youth in promoting peaceful elections in 2024," the MCE commended the school authorities for the topic. He continued that peace is essential, especially in this crucial elections. "Nothing beneficial can be done without peace and tranquility." The MCE admonished the students to learn hard and also reward the NPP government with their thumbs in the December polls. He donated two sets of jerseys, two footballs, four bulbs for street lights and one thousand Cedis ( Ghc1,000) to the school. The Presiding Member also donated three thousand Cedis (Ghc3,000) on behalf of the MP. 

Other dignitaries at the function were Mr. Andrews Arthur Sub Chief Chirano, Rev Father Augustine Asemiah, Catholic Priest, Chirano Parish, Nana Yaw Acheampong lll, Chief of Bonten, and Mr. Ronald Sutherland, Physician Assistant, Chirano Health Centre.
