Nkoranza SHS and Nkoranza Technical Institute Students Clash Again; Several Injured.

Students of Nkoranza Technical Institute (NTI) attacked students of Nkoranza Senior High Technical School (SECTHEC) in the Bono East region on Monday, June 10, 2024, leaving eight injured and damaging school properties, including police and teachers' cars.

The police intervened, bringing the riot under control, and two students have been arrested, with efforts ongoing to apprehend other perpetrators.

According to sources, the incident occurred after male students of NTI visited Nkoranza SECTHEC on Friday evening, June 7, 2024, to propose to some female students, which infuriated male students of SECTHEC, leading to the riot.

In an interview with Apiah-Kubi on Fabea FM's "Me Man Ho Dadwen," Isaac Amankwaa, the Municipal Education Director of Nkoranza South, stated that the situation has been calmed down while investigations continue.

He noted that a committee has been set up by the Bono Regional Minister, the Municipal Chief Executive, and the Police Commander to investigate the cause of the riot.

Amankwaa emphasized that the situation has been a recurring ritual between the two schools, where any minor issue can spark chaos.

He appealed to individuals, especially old students and staff, who may be influencing the students, to desist from doing so.
