PRESIDENT AKUFO ADDO COMMISSION THE SILVER JUBILEE BUILDING AT UDS

On Thursday, 22nd August 2024, the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo commissioned the Silver Jubilee Building at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Tamale, a significant milestone that underscores the  commitment to advancing education in Ghana.
The three-storey complex, which houses lecture halls and offices, is not just a building; it symbolizes the shared vision for a brighter future and our dedication to providing quality education for all he started. I am proud to have fulfilled the promise I made in 2018 during UDS’s 25th-anniversary celebration, ensuring that this institution continues to thrive as a hub for innovation and intellectual growth.
The President said that,Education remains a cornerstone of my government's agenda, and we have invested heavily in this sector because we recognize that it is the most powerful tool to transform the nation. He also stressed that, the No Guarantor Policy has significantly improved access to tertiary education, removing financial barriers and opening doors for countless young Ghanaians. Additionally, our substantial support for research and academic development reflects our belief in the power of knowledge to drive national progress.
As we celebrate this achievement, I urge all universities in Ghana to strengthen their ties with industry and government to ensure that their research and teaching align with our nation's development goals. Together, we are building a brighter future for Ghana, and I am confident that with continued investment in education, we can unleash the full potential of our young people and propel our country to greater heights.
