Mohammed Kudus makes another history on his Tottenham EPL debut
Mohammed Kudus Shines Bright in Tottenham Debut Season
Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has made a dream start to life in North London following his £55 million summer switch from West Ham United to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 25-year-old Black Stars star impressed in pre-season and has already etched his name into Spurs’ history books after just two competitive appearances.
In Tottenham’s emphatic 3-0 win over newly promoted Burnley this afternoon, Kudus stole the show with two assists, becoming the first Spurs player to register an assist on his Premier League debut since 2017.
He linked up brilliantly with Richarlison, setting up the Brazilian’s opener in the 10th minute before combining with him again in the 60th to double Spurs’ advantage. Six minutes later, Brennan Johnson sealed the victory, capping off a commanding display from Thomas Frank’s men. Kudus received a standing ovation when he was substituted for Mathys Tel five minutes from time.
The Ghana international has now contributed either a goal or an assist against a newly promoted side for the third consecutive Premier League season—assisting against Luton Town in 2023/24, scoring against Ipswich Town last year, and now delivering two assists versus Burnley.
Kudus also reached a personal milestone earlier this week, officially becoming Tottenham’s 896th competitive player after receiving his Legacy Number in the Super Cup defeat to Paris Saint-Germain. Despite Spurs’ penalty shootout heartbreak, he stood out at the Bluenergy Stadium with three chances created and two successful dribbles before making way for Tel.
Energetic, creative, and dangerous throughout, Kudus is already showing signs that he could emerge as a key figure for Spurs this season.
