LEGON CITIES FACE UPHILL BATTLE TO AVOID RELEGATION FROM GHANA PREMIER LEAGUE
LEGON CITIES AVOID RELEGATION

Legon Cities FC are in a tough fight to avoid relegation from the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League. As of early May 2025, the club remains in the drop zone, having endured a disappointing season marked by inconsistent performances.
One of their biggest setbacks has been their inability to win away matches, with their last road victory coming in December 2023. This poor form on the road has significantly affected their points tally, making their survival hopes slimmer. While they’ve managed to earn some points at home—such as a recent 1-1 draw against Vision FC—those results haven’t been enough to lift them out of danger.
Off the pitch, Legon Cities have also dealt with administrative and financial hurdles. Criticized for lacking a strong fan base, the club has seen instability within its management. Head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin resigned amid player unrest and internal tensions, adding to the club’s woes.
Despite these challenges, current coach Maxwell Konadu remains hopeful. He has praised the team's resilience and believes they still have a chance to avoid relegation if they stay focused and deliver strong performances in the remaining fixtures.
To stay in the top division, Legon Cities must make the most of every game and stabilize both their performances and management structure.
