MTN Ghana has officially confirmed a cybersecurity incident that potentially exposed the personal data of approximately 5,700 customers. The breach, announced on April 28, 2025, is currently under investigation by the Data Protection Commission (DPC).

According to MTN, unauthorized access was detected within its systems, prompting immmediate action to assess and contain the situation. While the full extent of the breach is still being determined, the company has engaged top cybersecurity experts to conduct a thorough forensic investigation.

MTN assured the public that its core systems remain secure and fully operational. Affected customers are being contacted directly and will receive guidance on protective measures.
