CURRY LEADS WARRIORS TO GAME 7 VICTORY OVER ROCKETS
CURRY LEAD WARRIORS TO VICTORY
Stephen Curry and Buddy Hield were instrumental in leading the Golden State Warriors to a 103–89 win over the Houston Rockets in Game 7 of their first-round playoff matchup, advancing the team to the Western Conference semifinals.
Curry showcased his all-around game with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists, coming alive in the fourth quarter with 14 points during a decisive 12–0 run that put the game out of reach for Houston.
Hield delivered a standout performance, scoring a game-high 33 points and tying an NBA Game 7 record with nine made three-pointers. His offensive explosion gave the Warriors a crucial edge throughout the contest.
Golden State’s defense was also key, holding the Rockets to just 40.5% shooting and effectively shutting down their inside game. Draymond Green added 16 points and two blocks, while Jimmy Butler contributed 20 points in a solid all-around team effort.
Despite the loss, the Rockets had a bright spot in second-year guard Amen Thompson, who led the team with 24 points and 9 rebounds. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Warriors’ experience and execution.
This victory marks the fifth time since 2015 that the Warriors have eliminated the Rockets in the playoffs. Golden State will now face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals, with Game 1 set for Tuesday in Minnesota.
