VICE PRESIDENT OPOKU-AGYEMANG RECOVERING WELL AND EXPECTED TO RETURN SOON

Vice President Professor Jane Opoku-Agyemang is reported to be recovering well and in good spirits, according to President John Dramani Mahama.

Speaking at the launch of the national sanitary pad distribution program on the April 24, 2025, President Mahama shared that he had recently spoken with her.She conveyed her gratitude,assured the public that she is recuperating and resting, and expressed eagerness to return soon to contribute to the administration's "reset agenda".

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang fell ill on March 28, 2025, and was admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre the following day. On medical advice, she began a three-week leave from April 7 to focuson her recovery.

She is currently in the united Kingdom for rest and recuperation and is expected to resume official duties in the coming weeks. Her return ia anticipated to be pivotal in driving major government initiatives, including the sanitary pad program.
