SAMMY GYAMFI HINTS AT IMMINENT ARREST OF NOTORIOUS GALAMSEY KINGPIN

Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) and National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC),Sammy Gyamfi,has revealed that a major player in the illegal mining polularly known as galamsey will soon be apprehended. During his interview on The point of view on Channel One TV, Gyamfi assured the public that within days, one of the most influential figures behind galamsey operations- along with accomplices will be arrested.

He commended the government's ongoing efforts to combat illegal mining, noting that seven out of nine forest reserves affected by galamsey have been reclaimed. Over 160 individuals have already been arrested, and authorities have confiscated numerous equipment, including 125 excavators, 10 bulldozers,7 pick- up trucks and 50 motorbikes.

Gyamfi constrasted the current administration's approach with that of the previous government, emphasizing transparency and accountability under the NDC. He assured that, unlike before, there have been no incidents of missing equipment or involvement of government officials in illegal mining activities.

This statement signals a serious crackdown on illegal mining and reinforces the government's commitment to preserving the environent.
