RASHID PELPUO NAMED CO-CHAIR

Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, Ghana’s Minister for Labour, Jobs and Employment, has been appointed as Co-Chair for the Tripartite High-Level Session at the upcoming Fair Recruitment Initiative (FRI) Conference. The event will be held from May 19 to 21, 2025, at the International Labour Organization (ILO) Headquarters in Geneva. He will share the co-chair role with Hon. Ali Bin Saeed Samikh Al Marri, Minister of Labour for the State of Qatar.

The FRI Conference focuses on promoting fair recruitment practices worldwide, aiming to protect migrant and vulnerable workers from exploitation, false contracts, excessive fees, and forced labor. The conference will bring together representatives from governments, workers, and employers to engage in dialogue, supported by key international labor organizations.

Ahead of the conference, Dr. Pelpuo highlighted the urgent need for ethical recruitment systems globally and described the event as a call to action to uphold dignity and fairness in the workplace.
