COMBAT MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS
Johnson & Johnson has teamed up with the University of Ghana (UG) to address the rising mental health challenges within the university community. On May 14, 2025, both organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the “Resilient Minds Future Leaders Programme.” This initiative is designed to increase awareness about mental health, reduce stigma, and improve access to mental health care services, with a special focus on conditions like schizophrenia.
The programme will offer capacity-building opportunities and promote a comprehensive approach to mental health, emphasizing prevention and early intervention. Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, Vice-Chancellor of UG, expressed confidence that this partnership will bring meaningful change not only to the university but also to the wider community.
Emmanuel Asante Antwi, Country Manager of Johnson & Johnson Ghana, highlighted the company’s commitment to developing sustainable mental health solutions through collaboration. He also encouraged other stakeholders to join efforts in addressing the urgent mental health needs in society.
This partnership marks a shared commitment to enhancing mental health awareness and support within UG and beyond, aiming to create a healthier and more resilient future generation.
