ETHEL ANAMOO ADVOCATES FOR WOMEN IN DIGITAL INNOVATION
At the 2024 National Sales Leaders Conference held in Accra, Ethel Anamoo, the Chief Business Officer of AT (formerly AirtelTigo), delivered a powerful message on the need for greater gender diversity in leadership, particularly in sales and marketing. In her address, she emphasized the importance of breaking traditional gender norms that have long defined the corporate landscape.
Anamoo acknowledged that sales and marketing have historically been male-dominated sectors, largely due to societal views of men as the primary breadwinners. However, she noted that this narrative is rapidly changing. Women are not only entering these fields in greater numbers but are also leading innovation and contributing significantly to business growth.
She stressed that for companies to thrive in today’s competitive, digitally driven environment, they must embrace diverse perspectives. Women bring unique insights and leadership styles that can propel organizations forward, particularly during times of digital transformation.
Anamoo’s call to action aligns with broader national conversations about gender equity. For example, during a Women’s Network Forum hosted by Absa Bank Ghana in April 2025, experts emphasized the importance of institutional reforms to ensure gender equality. Speakers highlighted the need for flexible work policies, fair parental leave, and the creation of leadership development pipelines that empower women to advance in their careers.
Through her leadership role and public advocacy, Ethel Anamoo is helping to challenge outdated structures and promote a more inclusive future where women can lead confidently in the digital age.
