ASANTE KINGDOM MOURNS AS MAMPONGHENE DAASEBRE OSEI BONU II PASSES; BRETUO FAMILY BREAKS NEWS TO OTUMFUO

The Asante Kingdom has been thrown into mourning following the passing of the Mamponghene,Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, a distinguished traditional ruler and stateman.His demise marks the end of an illustrious reign characterized by wisdom, dignity and unwavering commitment to the advancement of Asanteman.

In accordance with tradition, the Bretuo family-the royal lineage of the Mampong stool-has formally notified His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, of thesad event. A high-powered delegation from the family proceeded to the Manhyia Palace to observe the customary protocols and deliver the official message of Daasebre's passing.

Daasebre Osei Bonsu II was a towering figure within the Asante Confederacy,serving as the Regent of Asanteman during periods of transition and offering steady leadership during crucial moments in the kingdom's history.His profound knowledge of Asante customs and goverance, coupled with his deep respect for tradition and innovation, made him a highly revered figure both within and beyond the Asante Kingdom.
