AFIGYA KWABRE SOUTH NDC REPORTEDLY OPPOSES MAHAMA'S MCE NOMINEE

AFIGYE KWABRE SOUTH

KWABRE

Some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Afigya Kwabre South have expressed strong opposition to the nomination of Pearl Ankrah as Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) by former President John Mahama. According to reports from Asaase Radio, a section of the NDC youth have outrightly rejected her nomination, citing dissatisfaction with the decision.

Their frustration has reportedly escalated to the point of threatening to burn down the District Assembly office if the nomination is not withdrawn. So far, there is no official confirmation or coverage from Citi Newsroom regarding any endorsement of the nominee by the constituency's NDC leadership.

This unrest underscores ongoing internal divisions within the party at the local level, especially regarding leadership appointments made from the top. Such disputes could have implications for party unity and grassroots mobilization in the constituency.
