ACCRA TO WELCOME 2025 TRIENNALE

Education

Ghana will host the 2025 edition of the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) Triennale on Education and Training from October 29 to 31 in Accra. The event will bring together education ministers, policymakers, development partners, researchers, and other key stakeholders to discuss innovative strategies for transforming education across Africa.

Themed “Strengthening the resilience of Africa’s educational systems: advancing towards ending learning poverty by 2035 with a well-educated and skilled workforce for the continent and beyond,” the Triennale will focus on critical areas such as education financing, foundational learning, technical and vocational training, higher education and research, digital transformation, data-driven policy, and teacher development.

Ghana’s Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, expressed excitement over hosting the Triennale, describing it as a platform to highlight Ghana’s progress in education reform and build meaningful partnerships to advance education on the continent. ADEA Executive Secretary Albert Nsengiyumva praised Ghana’s leadership and innovation in education, saying the country is a fitting choice for such a significant continental event.

The 2025 Triennale is expected to attract more than 1,000 participants—about half of them in person and the rest virtually. The program will feature plenary sessions, breakout meetings, partner engagements, exhibitions, and site visits to educational institutions. It will also review progress since the 2022 edition held in Mauritius and align with the African Union’s declaration of 2025–2034 as the Decade of Accelerated Education.
