Sammy Gyamfi, National Communications Officer of the NDC and Acting Managing Director of the PMMC, has strongly denied recent claims of living an opulent and ostentatious lifestyle.
A video that surfaced online allegedly showed Gyamfi and his wife vacationing luxuriously in Miami, with accusations that party funds were used. He dismissed the claims as politically motivated falsehoods, explaining the trip was a private honeymoon and no public or party resources were involved. He also provided an alibi showing he was in Ghana during the alleged travel dates.
In another incident, Gyamfi was accused of spending over GH¢170,000 to renovate his office at PMMC. He denied this too, stating he made no changes since assuming the role in January 2025 and that the existing furniture predates his appointment.
He further addressed past allegations linking him to multiple luxury vehicles and property in Airport Hills. Gyamfi clarified he owns only one Toyota Land Cruiser—a gift from a benefactor—and does not own any mansion, although he aspires to.
Despite the scrutiny, Gyamfi has remained vocal against what he describes as the extravagant spending of the current government, criticizing President Akufo-Addo for indulging in luxury at the public’s expense.
Gyamfi has indicated he will take legal action against those propagating what he terms deliberate misinformation.
