The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a stable power supply, despite facing challenges related to aging infrastructure and external factors. According to Charles Nii Ayiku Ayiku,the company's General Manager for External Communications, ECG is actively addressing equipment issues by upgrading and replacing outdated infrastructure to reduce outages and improve service quality.

The Company is also working to combat environmental threats, particularly bushfires during the harmattan season, which have caused significant damage to the power lines and equipment. Mr.Ayiku called on the public to help prevent such fires, as damaged infrastructure often leads to long service interruptions.

In addition, ECG has engaged with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) to settle outstanding payments,preventing potential power cuts and stabilizing electricity generation. These efforts, along with the company's ongoing infrastructure modernization, highlight ECG's dedication to providing reliable power to consumers across Ghana.
