The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has resumed his mediation efforts aimed at resolving the ongoing Bawku conflict. The sessions began today, Monday, April 28, 2025, at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, and are scheduled to continue through Thursday, May 1, 2025.

This mediation follows a statement issued on April 15, 2025, confirming the dates and location. The Asantehene's involvement is part of a broader national effort to bring peace to the troubled region.

Security analyst Colonel Festus Aboagye(Retired)  has stressed the importance of providing additional support for Otumfuo's mediation, advocating for a multi-faceted approach to address the complex issues at the heart of the conflict.

The Minority in Parliament has praised the Asantehene's mediation, describing it as constructive and yielding positive outcomes.They have called for a de-escation of tensions to allow the peace process to continue effectively.

President John Dramani Mahama has condemned the recent violence in Bawku and expressed confidence that Otumfuo's mediation will ultimately lead to lasting peace in the area.
