Announced by President John Dramani Mahama during his State of the Nation Address on Februaury 27,2025, the NSERRP aims to equip young Ghanaians with essential skills for national development and emergency preparedness. The training will include military drills, fitness exercises, Survival strategies, and teamwork activities.

NSA Director-General, Felix Gyamfi described the program as vital for nurturing a resilent and patriotic generation. Brigadier General Amoah- Boakye affirmed the military's readiness to deliver the training effectively.

While the intiative has been praised for fostering civic responsibility, there are concerns about the logistical challenges of implementing it nationwide. The NSA has assured that more information about training sites and processes will be shared ahead of the program's launch.
