Michael Collins Ajereh, a prominent and popular Nigerian music producer also known as Don Jazzy, a and executive, recently made waves on social media by encouraging men to take more responsibility in the fight against paternity fraud. In his Instagram posts, Don Jazzy, a well-known music luminary and influential figure, suggested that men should focus on DNA testing when choosing to prove their paternity.

Rather than cultural ceremonies, such as naming ceremonies in Nigerian society, DNA testing is more important than anything else,’ he wrote in his post.

His comment is made in the context of a growing conversation about paternity fraud, which has recently become infamous due to cases where people have come to know for years that they are not actually the fathers of their children. Such discoveries have led to painful splits within families and broader questions about trust and honesty in relationships. "The proposition of compulsory and making sure of a DNA testing at birth is a topic of debate among experts on the Internet, with some suggesting that such measures could lead to negative consequences and undermine family trust.

The reactions on social media are diverse. Don Jazzy's viewpoint is supported by some who believe that men should be informed of their children' parentage. There are those who believe that prioritizing DNA tests could lead to distrust and potentially damage familial connections.
