Vice President and NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, accompanied by dignitaries and community leaders, has commissioned a modern polyclinic in the town of Mim, located in the Asunafo North Constituency of the Ahafo Region. This new healthcare facility, completed on October 31, marks a significant step forward in providing high-quality, accessible healthcare to the community and its surrounding areas.

The facility, a 40-bed polyclinic, was the result of a four-year development project under the guidance and supervision of Ghana's Ministry of Health and the Ghana Health Service. Speaking at the event, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, Director General of the Ghana Health Service, highlighted the clinic’s extensive range of services and advanced infrastructure. According to Dr. Kuma-Aboagye, the polyclinic has been designed to meet modern standards, equipped with the latest technology, and staffed with a team of experienced and dedicated health professionals. These measures ensure that patients will receive comprehensive, high-quality care.

In addition to general medical consultations, the Mim Polyclinic offers a wide range of essential health services. It includes an emergency care unit, well-equipped outpatient services, a maternity ward, laboratory and diagnostic facilities, and more. Dr. Kuma-Aboagye emphasized that the clinic would cater to patients across various demographics, from maternal and child health to adults with chronic illnesses.

The opening of this polyclinic aligns with the Ghana Health Service’s mission to bring essential health services closer to rural and underserved communities. Previously, residents of Mim and nearby towns often had to travel long distances to access primary healthcare services. With this new facility, healthcare is now more accessible, saving patients time, money, and the additional stress associated with travel.

Dr. Bawumia noted that the project reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and supporting communities that have long been under-resourced. He acknowledged the healthcare staff, contractors, and community leaders who worked tirelessly to bring this project to completion and urged the residents to utilize the facility responsibly, reinforcing that government investments like these are a reflection of the administration's dedication to improving quality of life for every Ghanaian.

As part of the day’s event, a community health education program was held to inform local residents about the services available at the polyclinic and to encourage preventive health practices. The community welcomed the new facility with open arms, expressing gratitude and optimism for better health outcomes.
