POLICE POST IN DISREPAIR AS CHIEF OF DONKRO-NKWANTA PLEADS FOR RETURN OF POLICE PERSONNEL.

The Chief of Donkro-Nkwanta, a community in the Nkoranza South Municipality in the Bono East Region, Nana Owusu-Akyaw Brempong II, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to re-post police personnel to the local police sub-station.

This comes amid a significant surge in armed robbery and related social vices in the community.

In a call to Fabea FM's Apiah-Kubi, the Chief attributed the rise in crime to the recent deployment of police officers from the sub-station, following an incident between police personnel and youth in Nkoranza, which resulted in the death of Albert Donkor.

Since then, according to the Chief, all police personnel have left their posts, and efforts to bring them back have been unsuccessful.

Nana Brempong II emphasized the community's willingness to support the police personnel's stay, including providing accommodations.

The community has consistently cleared weeds surrounding the police station, demonstrating their readiness to welcome the police back. However, their efforts have yielded no results, leaving the police post in disrepair.

"The community is concerned about the alarming rate of crime and seeks immediate intervention to restore safety and security," Nana Brempong stated.

"I have petitioned the IGP, highlighting the importance of a functional police presence in maintaining law and order", Nana Brempong concluded.
