Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona pledges to be faithful and dedicated in the discharge of his duties: Ghana Army Induction ceremony for COAS

At a religious procession on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the forecourt of the Army Headquarters, Burma Camp, Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona was formally inducted into office as Chief of the Army Staff COAS.


Chaplain Colonel Duodu, Director of Army Religious Affairs (DARA), spoke on the subject of "Building beyond walls, Prophet Nehemiah," praising the prophet as a role model for leaders via his example of faith, tenacity, and vision.

He went on to say that new ideas, strategic foresight, and the capacity to unite behind a common objective are hallmarks of visionary leadership, and he urged everyone to think about the life and leadership of Nehemiah, who turned a town into a city by his unwavering faith and vision.

Imam Kameny Shafudeen sternly warned everyone in his sermon to follow the rules set out by the military. Furthermore, he pleaded with everyone to actively seek out information and training in order to guarantee their success.

General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona, in his remarks expressed appreciation to the President and Commander-in- Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Minister of Defense Hon. Dominic Nitiwul, Chief of the Defence Staff Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, and all of his superiors for placing their trust in him. during his remarks, he urged all to accord him their utmost support towards the realisation of his vision and build on the legacies established by his predecessors. He swore to do his job with honesty and integrity.

The COAS went on to thank the troops for their hard work and selflessness in support of the Army's objective. To achieve his vision and continue the work of his predecessors, he asked everyone to stand behind him completely.
