GHANA'S ECONOMY EXPECTED TO EXPAND BY 4.5%

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has forecasted a 4.5% growth in Ghana’s economy for the year 2025. This projection reflects growing confidence in the country’s ongoing economic recovery efforts and structural reforms.
According to the AfDB, the expected expansion will be driven largely by strong performance in the mining sector as well as sustained government reforms aimed at boosting fiscal stability and long-term resilience. The Bank highlighted that these reforms are gradually restoring macroeconomic balance following recent economic challenges, including inflationary pressures and public debt concerns.
The anticipated growth rate for 2025 mirrors the 4.5% estimate previously made for 2024, suggesting a steady upward trend in Ghana’s economic performance. The AfDB’s report points to improved investor confidence and increased productivity across key sectors as additional factors contributing to this positive outlook.
This development is seen as a strong indicator that Ghana is on the path to recovery, with prospects for enhanced industrialization and job creation if current policy measures are sustained.
