ERIC OPOKU TO LEAD GHANAIAN DELEGATION TO SUMMIT

Hon

Ghana’s Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eric Opoku, will head a high-level delegation to the Canada-Ghana Agribusiness Summit scheduled to take place in Saskatoon, Canada, in July 2025.

The summit is a strategic platform designed to deepen collaboration between Canada and Ghana in the areas of agribusiness and food systems. It will bring together key stakeholders from both countries, including policymakers, private investors, agricultural experts, and development partners.

Key highlights of the event will include keynote speeches, expert panel discussions, business matchmaking sessions, and exhibitions. The summit will focus on important themes such as climate-smart agriculture, sustainable food production, technology transfer, and investment opportunities within Ghana’s growing agricultural sector.

Minister Eric Opoku’s participation underscores the government of Ghana’s commitment to transforming agriculture through strategic partnerships. His presence is expected to strengthen Ghana’s efforts to attract foreign investment, enhance agricultural productivity, and promote food security.

The summit also aligns with the government’s “Feed Ghana” initiative, which aims to increase domestic food production and reduce reliance on imports. Additionally, Minister Opoku is advocating for the formation of farmer cooperatives to improve coordination, access to resources, and overall agribusiness development across the country.

This engagement with Canadian stakeholders is seen as a significant step in positioning Ghana as a competitive player in global agricultural trade and innovation.
