BIBIANI MCE HANDS OVER REHABILITED AND REFURBISHED SANITARY FACILITY TO SEFWI BEKWAI ZONGO

On Sunday, 1st September 2024, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Hon Paul Andoh, on behalf of the member of Parliament, Hon Alfred Obeng-Boateng handed over a renovated sanitary facility to Bekwai Zongo.

The 14-seater toilet facility and four washrooms were established in 2003 to serve Sefwi Bekwai Zongo. Since then the facility has not seen any renovations. This led to the facility being in a deplorable state. The dilapidated nature of the facility compelled the MP to step in for the rehabilitation. 

According to the MCE, a water reservoir (poly tank), septic tank, Biogas, fresh seats, and a Mechanized borehole have been provided to improve the status of the facility.

Hon Andoh was optimistic that the event would serve as a sigh of relief to the residents of Zongo and also reduce open defecation. He, however, urged the residents to take good care of the facility to prolong its lifespan. An assurance was given by the MCE for the commissioning of other projects in the area soon. He also pleaded with them to vote massively for the NPP presidential and Parliamentary candidates to accelerate the development of the area.
